Student life

Student life offers so much more than getting an education – there’s the social life, the opportunity to discover new interests, and the chance to meet new people. This is equally true for MGA students.

At MGA, when you study with us you become part of a tight knit student community from the moment you walk through the door. We offer a wide range of support networks to our students and we are happy to help in anyway we can.

Our student numbers may be smaller than that of other institutions but this means that our teaching staff get to know our students on a personal level.
At MGA you are not just a face in a lecture hall. Our staff will get to know you as a person as well as a performer and as a result will know how to get the very best out of you ensuring that your time at MGA is a positive experience and you graduate ready for a successful career within the performing arts industry.

At MGA, we encourage our students to work hard in the studio and classroom but to also make the most of their time off. The City of Edinburgh is accessible affordable and multicultural, which makes it a great base for students from all backgrounds. With it’s mix of architecture, culture, art, music, shopping, sport and of course it’s legendary nightlife scene Edinburgh really does have everything todays student needs!

Student activities

Edinburgh is packed with stunning architecture and is filled with culture, activities and stunning scenery. The city is small enough to walk or cycle around, and it consistently featured in the top student rankings in categories including safety, health and well-being, and best urban place in the UK.

There is something for everyone in Edinburgh with the city hosting events in theatre, comedy, literature, film, dance and sporting events on a daily basis, there really is an unlimited choice of wind down options after a hard day of studying!

And for those days when the city is just too busy and you need to get out into nature, a short bus or train journey can take you to another world of mountains, lochs valleys and coastlines.
