It’s MGA’s Edinburgh this summer…
The MGA Academy of Performing Arts are taking the streets of Edinburgh by storm this month after a fabulous end to the year and a busy July.
We had an amazing two weeks with our ‘Stage to Screen’ Summer School, welcoming lots of talented young people to MGA to work with a wonderful team of visiting tutors – huge thanks to coordinator Jennifer Tierney and Cameron MacDonald, Derek McGhie, Alison Cleland, Rob Shaw, Lauren Ellis Steele and our own Gerard Bentall for making it such a fantastic fortnight. And a fantastic bunch of lads joined MGA Creative Director Murray Grant and team, working with special guest tutors Sebastian Hardcombe, Fergal McGoff and Arthur Gourounlian on our first-ever Boys Scholarship Week.

As we are now Scotland’s first Council for Dance & Drama Education and Training (CDET) accredited college, some of our students thought the news was worth dancing about and headed out across our beautiful city of Edinburgh to celebrate! Here’s how our Dance students welcome the summer with style! Special thanks to Tower Restaurant, The City of Edinburgh Council, National Museum of Scotland and Nexus Digital Media Limited for producing.

MGA hit the Fringe
We’re thrilled to have not one but TWO fabulous shows on at C Venues in the Edinburgh Fringe this year, produced by Beyond Broadway – FIVE KINDS OF SILENCE followed by THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL. Students from our Acting and Musical Theatre Courses are busy every night in August from 7.10pm at the CToo venue, and responses to both productions have been wonderful so far. Find out more by clicking the links below and if you’re up for the festival please come along and support our students and graduates!
