The course runs during school summer holiday, Monday 31st July to Friday 4th August 2023
Summer school is returning to MGA and it’s going to bigger and better than ever before! Once Upon a Fairytale promises to be an exciting and fun-filled exploration of your favourite and best-known tales. Descendants, Shrek, Enchanted, Revolting Rhymes and many more will feature in the action-packed week that you won’t want to miss!
The week long programme will run from 31st July to 4th August 2023 from 10am – 4pm with an option for early and late drop-off and collection.
Those in attendance will have the opportunity to participate in musical theatre, dance, and acting activities, all set in a magical world inspired by beloved fairy-tales with some modern twists.
At MGA Academy of Performing Arts, we believe in nurturing and developing the talents of each and every child, and our experienced and enthusiastic teaching staff are dedicated to guiding participants in a supportive and fun environment.
This is an ideal programme for children who are passionate about performing arts, regardless of whether they are seasoned performers or new to the stage. They will have the chance to make new friends, build confidence, and develop skills that will serve them well both on stage and in life.

MGA summer courses are so much more than just a holiday club or summer production! They offer young people specialist learning to hone their talent, opportunities to socialise and build confidence, and access to MGA’s amazing professional network.
The MGA summer school format is designed to give young people aged between 8 and 18 a real insight into the performing arts, and training focuses on both the enjoyment and the discipline of professional theatre.
- Sessions run from Monday to Friday each week, 10am to 4pm daily. (Participants can be dropped off at The Academy building outside of these times with prior arrangement – from 8.30am and as late as 5pm.)
- Each week concludes with a presentation of participants’ work for an invited audience of friends and family in The Academy building.
- Healthy breakfast and lunch options are available from our on-site, great value Café (if required).

MGA Principals Andrew Gowland and Murray Grant have created yet another fabulous four-day course for the summer holidays in Edinburgh. Designed to give young people a real insight into contemporary Musical Theatre performance, training focuses on both the enjoyment and the discipline of professional theatre.
“Too much fun to know what to do with!”
Our summer schools are designed for students aged between 7 and 16 years old. During four days of intensive classes students get the opportunity to work with professional performers, MGA Tutors and our experienced arts industry Consultants.
The summer school this year runs from Monday 5th August to Thursday 8th August, 10am til 4pm.
Cost this year is £185. Places are strictly limited to 30 so book early to avoid disappointment! Booking forms will be released in the new year.
