The brand new movie adaption of “Cinderella” is ready to hit the big screen next week, featuring our 2017 Dance graduate Nakai Warikandwa (@nakaiwarikandwa)!
Working alongside Camilla Cabello, Idina Menzel and Billy Porter, it’s been a long time coming for Nakai, but we can’t wait to finally watch her shine in Amazon Prime’s newest hit. Smashed it!
Upon graduating from the MGA Academy of Performing Arts in 2017 with an HND in Professional Dance Performance, Nakai joined the cast of Mother Goose at The Alhambra Theatre, Dunfermline. In 2018, Nakai successfully gained two contracts with Celebrity Cruises, performing on their Summit and Equinox ships, respectively.
2019 saw Nakai performing in “We Can Dance Festival” in Belgium, “Still Game: Live” at the SSE Hydro, and the UK Tour of Dinah Jane. Additionally, she appeared on The Graham Norton Show, performing with Kesha, as well as in rapper James Indigo’s music video.
Despite the current climate, Nakai has continued to gain huge success throughout this last year, kicking off the year performing with Stormzy at The BRIT Awards. She has since gone on to appear in several music videos with Lake Turner, Mr Eazi Balvin, Amr Diab, Fabio Dandrea and MK.
